There they will offer Open Studio on the weekends. What is that? Well, they have a number of sewing machines you can use at the shop for a reasonable hourly rate. They will be right there, so when you need some help with your sewing project they’ll help you get it done.  All ages are welcome, some sewing knowledge is essential.

During the week, Laura & Tonia will be creating their ladies apparel, felted apparel & accessories, and knitting. You can purchase these one of a kind items in the shop, make an appointment to come in.

They will also be offering adult sewing classes, too: 2-hour sewing lessons, 5 students per class:

• Sew What = learning to use your sewing machine
• Cut It Out! = choosing the right fabric for your project and learn the rules of cutting
• www(dot)Zip It = learning to install standard and invisible zippers, the right way
• Facing Facings = finishing openings using bias tape, facings, “stitching in the ditch”, and other techniques

And, they’ll be offering week long camps for kids away from school:

January 2-6, 2012

March 5-9

March 12-16

July and August dates to be determined.

• Fashion Camp = ever dreamed of being a fashion designer? In these five days do what fashion designers do! Research, drape, execute! Boss people around, drink lattes and get a tan while smiling for the paparazzi!
• Re-Vamp Camp = take some old clothes, seam it here, cut it there, add this to it et voila! a cool new piece that you made yourself
• Trend Camp = study the latest fashion trends in colour, texture, silhouette, while expressing yourself in creating accessories to work that summer look
• Back to School = be the envy of all your friends when you return to school with the neatest book bag, pencil case, and lunch bag

Twiss & Weber will be at the Old Ottawa South Art & Music Festival September 17 & 18 – that’s Saturday and Sunday – from 10am to 5pm.
